Wife Killed Rohit Tiwari - Son of late veteran politician ND Tiwari

Delhi Police has arrested Apoorva Tiwari, the wife of ND Tiwari's son Rohit Shekhar for murdering her husband. The police has cited a "turbulent and unhappy" marriage as the motive. A Delhi court has sent Apoorva to two-day police custody.

Rohit Shekhar, the son of the late veteran politician ND Tiwari, was smothered to death on the intervening night of April 15 and 16, an autopsy report said.
Additional Commissioner (Crime) Rajeev Ranjan said that Apoorva smothered her husband and choked him with a pillow after the couple got into a fight on April 16. Apoorva had a heated argument with her husband over Rohit drinking alcohol with a woman relative.
"On the night of the incident, the couple had a fight over a relative. Rohit had been drinking all the way from Uttarakhand to Delhi and was not in a condition to resist. During the fight she pounced on him and smothered him," he told reporters.
She entered Rohit's room on April 16 and executed the crime. She later destroyed the evidence. All this happened within one-and-half hours," said the officer.

Woman filed false rape cases since 1996, now faces legal action

A Rewari court has ordered legal proceedings against a middle-aged woman for allegedly filing false cases against several men, including her ex-husbands and their family members, since 1996 to extort money or for other benefits.

Phalit Sharma, additional district and sessions judge, Rewari, passed the order a couple of days ago while hearing a 2017 case involving a policeman, who had been in touch with the woman since 2010 and was accused of raping her repeatedly. During the trial, it came to light that the allegations levelled against the cop were all fabricated.
The court acquitted the cop and order prosecution against the woman, a Rewari resident, under Section 211 (falsely implicating someone with intension to hurt) of the IPC. The charge, if proven, may result in a penalty or up to two year’s imprisonment or both.

Jodhpur: Girl fakes her own abduction

Inspired by a series she saw on television, a 13-year-old girl from Rajasthan faked her own abduction allegedly after she got upset with her parents for scolding her. The girl's claims came crashing down when the matter was taken to the police and a preliminary investigation revealed how her story about getting abducted and escaping from the clutches of her captors turned out to be blatant lies.

A day after she was chided by her parents, the girl left home on the pretext of going to her coaching classes but instead went to a relative's residence. Once there, she claimed that unknown men in a white van abducted and blindfolded her before throwing her in the back of the van where she passed out. The girl also said that she managed to escape the clutches of her captors when the vehicle stopped near Paota circle, adding that there was another hostage in the van.

The police examined CCTV footage from Chopasani and Paota which led them to believe that the girl could be lying. Upon questioning, the 13-year-old confessed to fabricating the story of her abduction after she was upset and angry with her parents for scolding her.
